Malaysia is a country that truly has it all—bustling cities, breathtaking temples, stunning natural landscapes, and some of the most exciting attractions in the world. Whether you're wandering through vibrant markets, exploring sacred caves, or sliding down the world's longest water slide, there's always something new to experience. During my trip, I discovered some incredible places that I can’t recommend enough. If you're planning a visit, here are the top things I did in Malaysia that you should definitely add to your itinerary!

Escape Penang

For thrill-seekers, Escape Penang is an absolute must-do! This adventure park is packed with exciting attractions, but the standout feature is the world’s longest tube water slide—covering a crazy 1,111 meters! As you slide through the rainforest, you get an adrenaline rush while enjoying the scenery around you. But it’s not just about the slide; Escape Penang offers a range of outdoor activities, including zip lines, obstacle courses, and water sports, making it a perfect destination for families or anyone adventurous looking to add a bit of fun to their Malaysia trip.

Kek Lok Si Temple

Located in Penang, Kek Lok Si Temple is one of the largest and most impressive Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. The temple complex is a mix of intricate architecture, vibrant colors, and beautiful gardens. As you wander through, you’ll get to see the towering Seven-Tier Pagoda and the massive Statue of Kuan Yin. The temple offers stunning views of Penang, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a great place to slow down and soak in the sites. Don't forget to explore the surrounding areas for beautiful gardens and the famous Kek Lok Si fish pond.

Petronas Towers

No trip to Malaysia would be complete without visiting the iconic Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. Standing at 452 meters tall, these twin skyscrapers were once the tallest buildings in the world and remain a symbol of Malaysia. The view from the Skybridge, which connects the two towers, offers incredible views of the city. You can also visit the observation deck on the 86th floor for an even higher perspective of Kuala Lumpur. The Petronas Towers are a must-see landmark in Malaysia!

Batu Caves

Just outside Kuala Lumpur, the Batu Caves are a must-visit! The highlight is the massive Statue of Lord Murugan, which stands 42.7 meters tall, greeting visitors at the entrance. To reach the caves, you'll climb 272 colorful steps, and along the way, you can enjoy views of the surrounding area. Inside the caves, you'll find several Hindu temples and shrines, making it a place of spiritual significance. Please make sure to dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees. Watch out for the monkeys along the way, they are cute but will bite or steal your belongings!

In Conclusion

Malaysia offers an incredible mix of culture, nature, and adventure. From the Petronas Towers to the Batu Caves, every corner of the country has something unique to offer. I hope this list helps you plan your trip and gives you ideas for some must-do experiences! Whether you're visiting for a few days or a few weeks, there's no shortage of things to see and do in this beautiful country!
